Soroban & calligraphy for junior high students

Even in junior high,
this is a place to keep going.

Learning that doesn’t end with elementary school. From junior high, children grow even further. In soroban, kyu certificates become a plus on school reports; in calligraphy, beautiful handwriting that lasts a lifetime.

For parents

Worried about fitting it in with club activities?
Let’s turn that worry into confidence, right here.

Junior high life is busy, and that is exactly why “time to focus efficiently” matters so much. It would be a shame to let the foundation built in elementary school stop here. In a place where your child can feel “Here, I can keep going,” let’s grow that ability further and gain a “real strength” that helps with high school entrance exams and long into adulthood.

Two classes that widen future possibilities

SorobanAim for the upper grades. A powerful asset for high school entrance

Schoolwork gets heavier in junior high. The habit of focusing for short stretches makes studying far more efficient. The goal is “3rd kyu or higher,” a certificate you can write on a résumé. It becomes a powerful plus on the school report (the naishin score used for high school admissions), and it also builds the ability to perform under pressure when the real exam comes.

CalligraphyLearn true “gyosho” script, too. Beautiful handwriting for life

On top of the basic kaisho (block) script, junior high students begin the flowing “gyosho” (semi-cursive) script. Beautiful handwriting makes a good impression on homework and tests, and becomes something that sets your child apart. In a digital age, “the beauty of handwriting” stands out all the more; it will help your child in future job hunting and working life, as a lifelong asset.
