We began in 1972 as “Morita Juku” in Toyohashi. Today we run Kodomo School in Japan and Kodomo Soroban Center in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Business overseas

In March 2022, we established Morita Group Vietnam (the operating company).
In June 2023, we opened Kodomo Soroban Center in Hanoi, Vietnam.
In 2026, we were selected for a support project of Japan’s Ministry of Education (MEXT), “EDU-Port Japan.”

History

Over 50 years, starting in Toyohashi

  1. Our first juku (after-school learning center)
  2. 1972Opened “Morita Juku” in 老松町 (Oimatsucho), Toyohashi — the forerunner of Kodomo School (formerly “Jido Kurabu”)
  3. 1975Opened our main school, “Takashi Shingaku Hoshu Kyoshitsu,” in 高師本郷町 (Takashi-hongocho), Toyohashi
  4. 1980Renamed the school “Morita Juku.” Opened the Morita Juku 三本木 (Sanbongi) classroom
  5. 2006Opened the Morita Juku 野依台 (Noyoridai) classroom in Toyohashi
  6. 2008Opened the Morita Juku つつじヶ丘 (Tsutsujigaoka) classroom in Toyohashi
  7. 20093 classrooms in Toyohashi, with more than 350 students
  8. Kodomo School begins
  9. 2010Opened the head office of “Jido Kurabu” (the forerunner of Kodomo School) inside Morita Juku’s main Sanbongi school. Opened soroban and calligraphy classes in Toyohashi, Toyokawa and Hamamatsu
  10. 2011Incorporated Morita Juku as Morita Group Co., Ltd. Opened several classrooms in Okazaki
  11. 2014Passed 50 classrooms. Changed the school name from “Jido Kurabu” to “Kodomo School”
  12. 2016Moved the Kodomo School head office to 八町通 (Hatchodori), Toyohashi. Morita Juku closed
  13. 2019Passed 90 classrooms (Toyohashi, Toyokawa, Okazaki, Anjo, Hamamatsu)
  14. 2020Passed 100 classrooms
  15. 2022Expanded to Vietnam (established Morita Group Vietnam)
  16. 2023Opened our Hanoi school, “Kodomo Soroban Center”
  17. 2026Selected for a support project of MEXT’s “Overseas Expansion of Japanese-Style Education (EDU-Port Japan)” (a project for Japanese-style soroban education and teacher training in Vietnam)
